Just as stagehands set the stage for a production, the same is done for a home. It is made to look cozy and inviting so that it stands out from the rest of the homes on the market. Most buyers are visual and have difficulty envisioning how a home could look with their furnishings, which makes it critical to “set the stage” or “paint a picture” for them. Real Estate Staging is not about decorating – in most cases it is about un-decorating and is accomplished by home editing or de-cluttering, organizing, and the rearrangement of furnishing, artwork, and accessories.
